The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 33) intituled Human Rights Amendment Act, 1993 and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

The Hon. A. Edwards (Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources), made a ministerial statement regarding the Vancouver Island Natural Gas Pipeline.

Mr. Hurd made a statement.

Mr. Weisgerber made a statement.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

By leave, Mr. Serwa tabled a document referred to during Oral Question Period.

By leave, Mr. Hurd tabled a document (video tape) referred to as "Welfare Expos‚ -- CKVU TV."

The Hon. A. Charbonneau (Minister of Transportation and Highways) made a ministerial statement relating to the Proclamation of Transportation Week in British Columbia.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Bill (No. 27) intituled Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act, 1993, was read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 14) intituled Railway Amendment Act, 1993 was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 23) intituled Home Owner Grant Amendment Act, 1993, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 23) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 28) intituled Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources Statutes Amendment Act, 1993 was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Order for Committee of Supply called.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section B of Committee of Supply (estimates of the Ministry of Transportation and Highways).

64  Mr. Symons to move--
Be it resolved that this Legislature urge the Government of Canada to spend at least 50% of the money collected through Federal taxes on automotive fuels on highways in the province of origin.
