Bill (No. 24) intituled Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Statutes Amendment Act, 1993, was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 34) intituled Foresters Amendment Act, 1993, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 34) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 26) intituled Waste Management Amendment Act, 1993, was committed.

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

Bill to be considered at the next sitting.

Ms. Tyabji moved a proposed amendment to section 1 of Bill (No. 26) as follows:

SECTION 1, Subsection (d) to be amended to read: implementation of a remediation plan which includes the site profile and processing plan for the receiving site made necessary by the removal of soil or soil relocation from the site as identified in section 1 (c).

The amendment was defeated on the following division:

Section A of Committee of Supply having reported the last vote of the Estimates of the Ministry of Aboriginal Affairs, debate on those Estimates was summarized, pursuant to Sessional Order of March 31, 1993.

Mr. Beattie presented the First Report of the Select Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs.

Resolved, That the Report be taken as read and received.

By leave of the House, Mr. Beattie moved that the Rules be suspended and the Report be adopted.

A debate arose.

Motion agreed to.

The Hon. M. Sihota advised that the House will sit Wednesday, pursuant to Standing Order 2 (2).

SECTION 2, Section 20.1 to be amended to read:

"government body" means a federal, provincial or municipal body, or first nation, including an agency or ministry of the Crown in right of Canada or British Columbia or an agency of a municipality, or agency of a first nation;
