Your Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills begs leave to report as follows:

That the preamble to Bill (No. Pr 401) intituled Lower Fraser Valley Exhibition Association Amendment Act has been proved, and the Committee recommends that the Bill proceed to Second Reading.

All of which is respectfully submitted.

By leave of the House, the Rules were suspended and the Report adopted.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 67) intituled Residential Tenancy Amendment Act, 1993.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Fox, the debate was adjourned until later today.

Bill (No. 21) intituled Consumer Protection Statutes Amendment Act, 1993 was committed and reported complete with amendment.

Bill as reported to be considered at the next sitting after today.

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 67) intituled Residential Tenancy Amendment Act, 1993.

Bill (No. 67) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

The Hon. M. Sihota advised that the House will sit Wednesday, pursuant to Standing Order 2 (2).

And then the House adjourned at 11.45 a.m.

Two o'clock p.m.

Mr. Barnes advised the House of the death of the Reverend Hartley Douglas Dent, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly, on July 12, 1993.

On the motion of Mr. Mitchell, Bill (No. M 225) intituled Parliamentary Calendar Act was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

By leave, the Hon. G. Clark (Minister of Finance and Corporate Relations) tabled a letter of apology from the Hospital Employees' Union.

The Hon. A. Hagen (Minister of Education and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism and Human Rights) tabled the Annual Report for the Ministry of Education and Ministry Responsible for Multiculturalism and Human Rights, July 1, 1991 to June 30, 1992.

The Hon. J. Sawicki (Speaker) tabled the 1992 Annual Report of the Ombudsman.

Mr. B. Jones presented a Report of the Special Committee to Appoint an Information and Privacy Commissioner.

The Report was taken as read and received.

By leave of the House, Mr. B. Jones moved that the Rules be suspended and the Report adopted.

Motion agreed to.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Section A of Committee of Supply having reported the last vote of the Estimates of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Recreation and Housing, debate on those Estimates was summarized, pursuant to Sessional Order of March 31, 1993.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply (estimates of the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Relations).

Bill (No. 51) intituled Health Care (Consent) and Care Facility (Admission) Act was committed and reported complete with amendment.

Bill (No. 55) intituled Health Professions Amendment Act, 1993 was committed and reported complete with amendment.

Bill as reported to be considered at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 71) intituled Health Professions Statutes Amendment Act, 1993 was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 61) intituled Pharmacists, Pharmacy Operations and Drug Scheduling Act was committed and reported complete with amendment.

Bill as reported to be considered at the next sitting after today.

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the amendment to the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 68) intituled Health Council Act.

On the motion of Mr. Anderson, debate on the amendment was adjourned until later today.
