The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

The Hon. G. Clark advised that the House will sit Wednesday, pursuant to Standing Order 2 (2).

Bill (No. 78) intituled Public Sector Employers Act was again committed.

In consideration of the motion that the Committee rise and report Bill (No. 78) complete without amendment, the Committee divided as follows:

Bill (No. 78) was reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 7) intituled Social Service Tax Amendment Act, 1993 was committed.

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

Bill to be considered at the next sitting.

And then the House adjourned at 11.55 a.m.

Two o'clock p.m.

The Hon. L. Boone (Minister of Government Services) tabled the Annual Report of the Ministry of Government Services for the fiscal year ended March 31, 1992.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Mr. Anderson presented a petition relating to private adoptions.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

On the motion for third reading of Bill (No. 45) intituled Health Authorities Act, the House divided.

Motion agreed to on the following division:

Bill (No. 45) read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 79) intituled Supply Act, 1993-94 was committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed, on division.

Bill (No. 7) intituled Social Service Tax Amendment Act, 1993 was again committed.

Section 2 of Bill (No. 7) passed, on division.

Bill (No. 7) was committed and reported complete without amendment, on division.

On the motion for third reading of Bill (No. 7), the House divided.

Motion agreed to on the following division:

Bill (No. 7) read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 66) intituled Public Service Act was committed.

In consideration of a proposed amendment on the Order Paper to section 2 (b) of Bill (No. 66) the Committee divided.

The amendment was defeated on the following division:

The Committee rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

And then the House recessed for thirty minutes.

Thirty Minutes past Six o'clock p.m.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 74) intituled Pacific Racing Association Act, a debate arose.

The debate continued.

The House divided.

Motion agreed to on the following division:

Bill (No. 74) read a second time and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 72) intituled Horse Racing Act, a debate arose.

Bill (No. 72) read a second time, on division, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for committal at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 62) intituled Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Amendment Act, 1993 was committed.

A proposed amendment on the Order Paper to section 1 of Bill (No. 62) was defeated, on division.

The House continued to sit after midnight.

Bill (No. 62) was reported complete with amendment.

Bill as reported to be considered at the next sitting.

The Hon. G. Clark moved that the House at its rising stand adjourned until 10 o'clock a.m. today.

Motion agreed to.

And then the House adjourned at 12.18 a.m.

NOTICE OF MOTIONS

Thursday Next

67  Mr. Gingell to move--

That in addition to the powers previously conferred upon the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts, the said Committee shall have the following additional powers, namely:

(a) to appoint of their number, one or more subcommittees and to refer to such subcommittees any of the matters referred to the Committee;

(b) to sit during any period in which the House is adjourned, during the recess after prorogation until the next following Session and during any sitting of the House;

(c) to adjourn from place to place as may be convenient; and

(d) to retain such personnel as required to assist the Committee;

and shall report to the House as soon as possible, or following any adjournment of the House, or at the next following Session, as the case may be; to deposit the original of its reports with the Clerk of the Legislative Assembly during a period of adjournment and upon the resumption of the sittings of the House, the Chairperson shall present all reports to the Legislative Assembly.
