Bill Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

The Hon. D. Miller (Minister of Energy and Mines) tabled the BC Hydro Annual Report, 2000.

The Hon. G. Mann Brewin (Minister for Children and Families) tabled Ministry for Children and Families Annual Report, 1998/1999.

The Hon. J. MacPhail (Minister of Labour) tabled the British Columbia Ferry Corporation Annual Report, 1999/2000.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Order for Committee of Supply called.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply (estimates of the Ministry of Multiculturalism and Immigration).

By agreement, the following Bills at committee stage to be considered in Section A of the Committee of the Whole, namely:
Bill (No. 24) intituled Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act (No. 2), 2000;
Bill (No. 26) intituled Agri-Food Choice and Quality Act; and
Bill (No. 18) intituled Finance and Corporate Relations Statutes Amendment Act, 2000.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 28) intituled Balanced Budget Act, a debate arose.

The debate continued.

By consent, the House recessed until 6.35 p.m.

Section A recessed until 6.45 p.m.

Mr. Stevenson (Deputy Speaker) tabled the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner Annual Report, 1999/2000.

The debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 28) intituled Balanced Budget Act, continued.

On the motion of Mr. Coleman, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

39. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $12,225,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Multiculturalism and Immigration, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2001.

40. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $11,963,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Multiculturalism and Immigration, Public Service Employee Relations Commission, to 31st March, 2001.


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolutions and completion of the Estimates of the Ministry of Multiculturalism and Immigration.

Report to be considered at the next sitting

Committee to sit again at the next sitting.

By agreement, summary debate of estimates passed in Section A (Ministry of Multiculturalism and Immigration) to be considered at the next sitting.

Section 19 of Bill (No. 24), passed on division.

Section 23 of Bill (No. 24), passed on division.

The Committee on Bill (No. 24) rose, reported progress and asked leave to sit again.

Bill to be considered at the next sitting.


Section A of Committee of the Whole further reported the following Bills complete:
Bill (No. 26) intituled Agri-Food Choice and Quality Act, without amendment; and
Bill (No. 18) intituled Finance and Corporate Relations Statutes Amendment Act, 2000, with amendment. Bill as reported to be considered at the next sitting after today.

Bill (No. 26) read a third time and passed.

And then the House adjourned at 8.54 p.m.
