HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Appointment of acting police complaint commissioner continued

1 Despite section 49 (2) (c) of the Police Act, the acting police complaint commissioner appointed on July 31, 2002 continues to hold office until a person is appointed as the police complaint commissioner under section 47 (1) of that Act.

Repeal

2 This Act is repealed on March 31, 2003 or on an earlier date prescribed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

 
Explanatory Note

This Bill provides that the acting police complaint commissioner holds office until a new police complaint commissioner is appointed.
