The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Order for "Private Members' Statements" called.

 7  By leave, Ms. Locke moved--
Be it resolved that this House call on the federal government to amend the Criminal Code so that "street racing" is considered an aggravating circumstance for a person convicted of a offence committed by means of a motor vehicle under section 220 (criminal negligence causing death) or 221 (criminal negligence causing bodily harm) or subsection 249 (3) (dangerous operation causing bodily harm) or 249 (4) (dangerous operation causing death).

A debate arose.

On the motion of Mr. Hawes, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

 3  By leave, Mr. Visser moved--
Be it resolved that this House recognize the important role that an environmentally responsible aquaculture industry can play in economic development for First Nations.

A debate arose.

On the motion of Mr. Hunter, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

The Hon. G. Collins (Minister of Finance) tabled the Members of the Legislative Assembly Pension Plan Annual Report 2001.

And then the house adjourned at 11.58 a.m.

The Hon. G. Abbott (Minister of Community, Aboriginal and Women's Services) presented to the Speaker a Message from Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 2) intituled Museum Act and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

Bill Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

The Hon. C. Richmond (Speaker) tabled the Elections BC Annual Report, 2002.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Pursuant to Order, the House resumed the adjourned debate on the Address in Reply to the Speech of Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor at the opening of the Session.

The debate continued.

On the motion of Mr. Penner, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

And then the House adjourned at 5.55 p.m.
