The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

Order for Committee of Supply called.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply.

Bill (No. 8) intituled Employee Investment Amendment Act, 2003 was committed, reported complete with amendment and by leave, read a third time and passed.

Bill (No. 3) intituled Small Business Venture Capital Amendment Act, 2003 was committed, reported complete with amendment and by leave, read a third time and passed.

On the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 12) intituled Police Amendment Act, 2003, a debate arose.

The debate continued.

On the motion of the Hon. R. Coleman, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

23. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $39,249,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Finance, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2004.

24. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $14,812,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Finance, Public Sector Employers' Council, to 31st March, 2004.

42. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $170,000,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Other Appropriations, Contingencies (All Ministries) and New Programs, to 31st March, 2004.

43. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $190,000,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Other Appropriations, Government Restructuring (All Ministries), to 31st March, 2004.

44. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $85,000,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Other Appropriations, BC Family Bonus, to 31st March, 2004.

46. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $1,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Other Appropriations, Commissions on Collection of Public Funds and Allowances for Doubtful Revenue Accounts, to 31st March, 2004.


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolutions and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Finance.

By agreement, summary debate of estimates passed in Section A (Ministry of Finance) to be considered at the next sitting.

And then the House adjourned at 11.57 a.m.

Bill (No. 13) intituled Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Amendment Act, 2003, was committed.

Ms. MacPhail moved an amendment to section 10 of Bill (No. 13) which was defeated, on division.

Bill (No. 13) was reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section B of Committee of Supply.

Section B of Committee of Supply reported progress of the estimates of the Ministry of Education.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Committee to sit again at the next sitting.

34. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $480,862,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2004.

35. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $16,957,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Statutory Services, to 31st March, 2004.
