Be it resolved that this House condemns the boycott of BC wood in China, and further that this House continues to support the efforts of British Columbia's forest industry, its workers, and their families.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC WRITTEN QUESTIONS

Monday, November 24

14  Chris O'Connor, Mayor, Village of Lytton, to ask the Hon. the Premier or the Hon. the Minister of Forests, regarding the Premier's or Minister's responsibility for International Trade or Forest Products Markets, the following question:--
Un-elected, unaccountable environmental groups, led by the Forest Action Network and Western Canada Wilderness Committee, recently staged a press conference in downtown Vancouver promoting a boycott of BC forest products in China.
What actions will the provincial government take to counter this act of economic treason, and what can resource communities do to fight the boycott and promote our sustainable forest industry worldwide?

15  Donald Linge, Councillor, Township of Esquimalt, to ask the Hon. the Minister of Sustainable Resource Management, regarding the Minister's responsibility for the Victoria Land Title Office, the following question:--
Since the Victoria Land Title Office is closing on April 1, 2004, due to the introduction of electronic filing, why is the equally busy Kamloops Land Title Office remaining open indefinitely?

16  Scott Doherty, 1st Vice-President, Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union, Local 1123, to ask the Hon. the Minister of Education, regarding the Minister's responsibility for Education, the following question:--
Why did this government impose a contract settlement on the teachers of British Columbia and then download the funding of their raises to the individual school boards?

17  Scott Doherty, 1st Vice-President, Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union, Local 1123, to ask the Hon. the Minister of Education, regarding the Minister's responsibility for Education, the following question:--
How many more schools have to be closed in Campbell River and the North Island before this government realizes that their funding is insufficient and detrimental to the quality of education of our children?
