 2  Mr. Bennett moved--
Be it resolved that this House recognize the significant financial challenges Olympic hopefuls must overcome to be competitive on the world stage and encourage governments of all levels and communities to review assistance provided to Olympic athletes.

A debate arose.

On the motion of Mr. Hayer, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

 
 3  Mr. Hunter moved--
Be it resolved that this House recognizes British Columbia's leadership in developing innovative solutions that have placed our health care system on a solid foundation for the 21st century.

On the motion of Mr. Hunter, the debate was adjourned to the next sitting of the House.

And then the House adjourned at 11.46 a.m.

Order called for "Members' Statements."

Order called for "Oral Questions by Members."

Ms. Kwan presented the Report of the Select Standing Committee on Public Accounts for the Fifth Session of the Thirty-seventh Parliament.

The Report was taken as read and received.

By leave of the House, Ms. Kwan moved that the Report be adopted.

Motion agreed to.

The Hon. B. Barisoff (Minister of Water, Land and Air Protection) tabled the Environmental Appeal Board Annual Report, 2003/2004.

The House proceeded to "Orders of the Day."

The Hon. C. Hansen (Minister of Finance) presented to the Speaker a Message from Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:

Lieutenant Governor

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith:
Supplementary Estimates No. 2 -- Fiscal Year Ending March 31, 2005;
and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

Ordered, that the Message, and the Supplementary Estimates accompanying same, be referred to the Committee of Supply.

Order for Committee of Supply called.

The House resolved itself into Committee of Supply (Supplementary Estimates of the Ministry of Forests).

24 (S). Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $112,500,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Forests, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2005.


The Committee reported the Resolution under the Supplementary Estimates of the Ministry of Forests.

Report to be considered forthwith.

The Hon. C. Hansen moved--
That the report of resolution from the Committee of Supply on February 21, 2005, be now received, taken as read and agreed to.

Motion agreed to.

The Hon. C. Hansen moved--
That there be granted from and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of $112,500,000. This sum is in addition to that authorized to be paid under section 1 of the Supply Act, 2004-2005 and is granted to Her Majesty towards defraying the charges and expenses of the public service of the province for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2005.

Motion agreed to.

The Lieutenant Governor transmits herewith Bill (No. 9) intituled Supply Act, 2004-2005 (Supplementary Estimates No. 2) and recommends the same to the Legislative Assembly.

The Speaker stated that pursuant to established practice, the Bill would proceed through all stages in one day.

Bill (No. 9) was read a second time, committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

The Hon. C. Hansen (Minister of Finance) presented to the Speaker a Message from Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor, which read as follows:
