The Hon. G. Campbell (Premier) made a statement regarding the death of Myles Mansell of Victoria, one of four Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan.

The House observed a minute of silence.

The Hon. W. Oppal (Attorney General and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism) presented to the Speaker a Message from His Honour the Administrator, which read as follows:

26. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $43,674,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Ministry Operations, to 31st March, 2007.

27. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $33,560,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, Contracts and Funding Arrangements, to 31st March, 2007.


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolutions and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources and further reported progress of the estimates of the Ministry of Advanced Education.

Report to be considered at the next sitting.

Be it resolved that this House requests TransLink to name the RAV Canada Line station at 49th and Cambie Street the "Punjabi Market - Langara Station" to reflect the ethnic diversity of the neighbourhood.
 
63  Mr. Robertson to move--
Be it resolved that this House calls on the government to reinstate the BC Student Grant program.
