PUBLIC PROTECTION ACT, 2007

This Public Protection Act will better protect licensed premises from gang violence. The Bill defines the term "gang colours" and prohibits persons from wearing gang colours in licensed premises.

HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

Definitions

1  In this Act:

"gang colours" means a sign, symbol, logo, or other representation identifying, associated with or promoting a group of persons who conspire to engage in unlawful activities.

Gang colours forbidden

2  No person shall wear gang colours in any licensed premises.

Commencement

3  This Act comes into force on the date of Royal Assent.
