This Bill will provide the Representative for Children and Youth additional powers of disclosure under the Representative for Children and Youth Act.
HER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:
1 Section 23 of the Representative for Children and Youth Act, S.B.C. 2006, c. 29, is amended by adding the following subsection:
(9) Despite this section, the representative may disclose and or authorize a person appointed or employed by the representative to disclose a matter that, in the opinion of the representative, is necessary to
(a) further an investigation,
(b) prosecute an offence under this Act, or
(c) establish grounds for conclusions and recommendations made in a report under this Act.
This Bill will provide the Representative for Children and Youth additional powers of disclosure under the Representative for Children and Youth Act.
