The Speaker declared a short recess.

Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor having entered the House, and being seated in the Chair —

Kate Ryan-Lloyd, Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees, read the titles to the following Acts:

Bill (No. 5) Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations Statutes Amendment Act, 2014.

Bill (No. 7) Laboratory Services Act.

Bill (No. 11) Protected Areas of British Columbia Amendment Act, 2014.

Bill (No. 12) Natural Gas Development Statutes Amendment Act, 2014.

Bill (No. 14) Justice Statutes Amendment Act, 2014.

Her Honour was pleased in Her Majesty’s name to give assent to the said Acts.

The said assent was announced by Kate Ryan-Lloyd, Deputy Clerk and Clerk of Committees, in the following words:

“In Her Majesty’s name, Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor doth assent to these Acts.”

Her Honour the Lieutenant Governor was then pleased to retire.

On the motion of Mr. Simpson, Bill (No. M 209) intituled Members’ Conflict of Interest Amendment Act, 2014 was introduced, read a first time, and Ordered to be placed on the Orders of the Day for second reading at the next sitting after today.

Order called for “Members’ Statements.”

Order called for “Oral Questions by Members.”

Order called for Committee of Supply.

Pursuant to Sessional Order, order called for Section A of Committee of Supply.

Mr. Martin presented the Report of the Select Standing Committee on Parliamentary Reform, Ethical Conduct, Standing Orders and Private Bills, April 9, 2014.

The Report was taken as read and received.

By leave, Mr. Martin moved that the Report be adopted.

Motion agreed to.

The House proceeded to “Orders of the Day.”

Bill (No. Pr 401) intituled Armstrong-Spalumcheen Student Assistance Association (Corporate Restoration) Act, 2014 was read a second time, and by leave, committed, reported complete without amendment, read a third time and passed.

The House resumed the adjourned debate on the motion for second reading of Bill (No. 23) intituled South Coast British Columbia Transportation Authority Funding Referenda Act.

The debate continued.

21. Resolved, That a sum not exceeding $11,714,000 be granted to Her Majesty to defray the expenses of Ministry of Environment, Environmental Assessment Office, to 31st March, 2015.


Section A of Committee of Supply reported the Resolutions and completion of the estimates of the Ministry of Environment.
