Underage Youth Parliamentarians

Congratulations on being selected to participate in this year's Commonwealth Youth Parliament, being held at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, in Victoria, British Columbia. This program is open to youth aged 18-29 from around the Commonwealth.

You may know that the age of majority in British Columbia is 19. As such, we have made special arrangements to ensure that any Youth Parliamentarians under the age of 19 will have access to an adult contact throughout their stay.

Jennifer Ives-Fournet, Parliamentary Education Officer at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, will be the contact person in case of emergencies. Jennifer will be staying at the hotel and will be available to assist you should you have any questions or concerns; her contact information, along with a 24-hour emergency staff contact number is below.

In addition, we would ask that Youth Parliamentarians under the age of 19 check in with Jennifer at the Harbour Towers Hotel and Suites by 11:00 pm each night.

We hope you will enjoy this year's Commonwealth Youth Parliament.
