Suzanne Anton was elected MLA for Vancouver-Fraserview on May 14, 2013, and was appointed Attorney General and Minister of Justice on June 10, 2013.

As the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Suzanne is responsible for justice issues for the government of British Columbia, and must ensure that the administration of public affairs is in accordance with law. Her role includes criminal and civil justice, access to justice, justice reform, Civil Resolution Tribunal and B.C.’s liaison to the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

Suzanne also served two years as Minister responsible for liquor, which included a review of provincial liquor policy and brought some of the most significant changes in liquor distribution sales in decade; and as Minister responsible for Emergency Management BC, focusing on earthquake and disaster preparedness in British Columbia.

She also serves on the Cabinet Committee on Secure Tomorrow, Priorities and Planning Committee and is the Vice Chair of the Legislative Review Committee.

Suzanne represents the riding of Vancouver-Fraserview, a quickly growing riding along the historic Fraser River on the south slope of Vancouver, a riding which reflects the celebrated diversity of British Columbia.

Prior to her election to the Legislative Assembly, Suzanne served as a Vancouver City Councillor from 2005 to 2011, and was a Vancouver Park Board commissioner from 2002 to 2005. Suzanne has also served on numerous community and corporate boards including Translink, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, BC Sports Hall of Fame, and PAVCO.

Before politics, Suzanne was a Crown counsel and a math teacher. She received a degree in Mathematics from the University of Victoria and a Bachelor of Laws at the University of British Columbia.

Suzanne and her husband Olin live in Vancouver and have three adult children, Elizabeth, Robert and Angus. They like to cycle and have cycled from Vancouver to Istanbul.
