Michele Babchuk was elected as the MLA for North Island in 2020. She is the Deputy Government Whip and a member of the Appointment Orders Committee.
From 2014-2020 she was a councillor for the City of Campbell River as well as chair of the Strathcona Regional District Board. She has been a strong advocate for resource sector communities and is passionate about internet connectivity.
She has served in various roles with the Comox Strathcona Hospital Board, the Comox Strathcona Solid Waste Management Board, the Strathcona Gardens Commission, the Tourism Advisory Committee, and the Airport Advisory Committee.
She has been a dedicated advocate for B.C. schools, and worked hard to make public education stronger during her time on the School Board and Parent Advisory Committee.
She has called the beautiful North Island home for over 20 years and currently resides in Campbell River.
