Karin Kirkpatrick was elected MLA for West Vancouver-Capilano in 2020. Karin serves as the Shadow Minister for Housing, Childcare, Autism & Accessibility, Gender Equity & Inclusion. 

Building on her background as an entrepreneur and educator, Karin Kirkpatrick is one of British Columbia's most accomplished non-profit leaders. 

As one of the founding members of BC's Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative, a member of the Vancity Community Foundation, and the CEO of the Real Estate Foundation of BC, Karin has been involved in innovative and sustainable land use projects ranging from affordable housing to environmental restoration projects, real estate research, and support for non-profits securing ownership of their real estate assets. 

In addition to her work with the Real Estate Foundation, Karin has served as Assistant Dean of UBC's Sauder School of Business, CEO of Family Services of Greater Vancouver, and CEO of the Private Career Training Institutions Agency of BC.  

Karin served on the Judicial Council of British Columbia for six years. She has been a board member of the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, Family Services of Canada, the Vancity Community Foundation, the BC Degree Quality Assessment Board, and the BC Council for International Education.

She has been recognized for her leadership as a Fellow of the Chartered Professional Accountants (FCPA), one of the Women's Executive Network's 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, Canada's Board Ready Top 50, and is a recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal. 

Karin is a Chartered Professional Accountant, holds a Master of Laws degree, and a Master of Business Administration.
