Lorne Doerkson was elected MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin in 2020. Lorne serves as the Official Opposition Deputy Caucus Whip as well as the Offical Oppostion Critic for Land, Water, and Resource Stewardship, and for Rural Development.
A long-time resident of the Cariboo-Chilcotin, Lorne Doerkson has worked in many different industries including a 20-year term in the newspaper business, followed by the automobile industry and is self-employed in financial services.
Lorne is a passionate community booster and was twice awarded the Community Booster award by the Chamber of Commerce. He has served on many boards and volunteered for a variety of local causes, often as emcee for events, and serving at an executive level on boards including the Williams Lake Stampede, the Chamber of Commerce, BC Community Newspaper Association and Hough Memorial Cancer Society.
