Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Parliamentary Committees Office is seeking a professional, detail-oriented, and organized individual for the regular full-time position of Committees Assistant.
Reporting to the Administrative Coordinator, the Committees Assistant provides administrative, financial, and logistical support to the Parliamentary Committees Office. This includes coordinating parliamentary committee meetings, providing reception services, supporting the Administrative Coordinator with financial administrative tasks and graphics, and providing general administrative support to the Parliamentary Committees Office team.

Applicants must have a minimum of two years of post-secondary education in business administration or a related field, and three years of administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Applicants must also have experience providing administrative support in an office setting and proficiency in the use of computers and business software/applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint and Teams and Adobe Acrobat.
Other preferred qualifications include experience in graphic design, particularly Adobe Creative Suite, providing financial administration support, and arranging large meetings, events, conferences and/or group travel.
