Position Summary

​Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Parliamentary Committees Office is seeking a professional and creative individual with strong critical thinking and research, analysis and communication skills for the regular full-time position of Committee Research Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager, Committee Research Services, the Committee Research Analyst is responsible for providing non-partisan research services and support to parliamentary committees. The position plans, coordinates and leads research, analysis and communications services for parliamentary committees, including developing and implementing workplans, supporting public consultations, developing and implementing communications products, drafting reports, and developing options and recommended strategies for the work of assigned committees. The position also works with Legislative Assembly senior management to develop and implement workplans, research projects, and communications products on a wide variety of Assembly issues and collaborates on interdepartmental projects to support the work of the Assembly. To be successful in these roles, the Committee Research Analyst is able to work effectively in a rapidly evolving environment, translate complex issues into plain language and collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

​Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, or a related field and a minimum of 4 years recent (within the past 7 years) related experience.
