The all-party Special Committee on Local Elections Expense Limits conducted an examination of expense limit amounts for candidates, including, but not limited to, the general relationship between limits for the various offices, and for third party advertisers in local elections.
During the first phase of its work, the Committee examined and made recommendations on principles for local elections expense limits and released its report on December 15, 2014. The Committee released its final report on the second phase of its work with respect to local elections expense limit amounts on June 26, 2015.
2014 local elections campaign expenditure data compiled from financial disclosure statements posted by Elections BC on its website in February 2015 is available under Related Links. The dataset includes reported campaign spending amounts for more than 3,540 candidates, elector organizations and third party advertisers, for campaign and pre-campaign periods.
