VICTORIA – The Finance Committee’s provincewide public consultations on Budget 2014 are continuing into the month of October.
The annual budget consultations provide a unique opportunity for British Columbians to present ideas on next years’ provincial budget to an all-party parliamentary committee of MLAs. British Columbians can participate by either attending a community public hearing, making a written submission, or completing an on-line survey by visiting:
www.leg.bc.ca/cmt/finance
“All British Columbians are invited to present their ideas to the committee at a public hearing or by making a submission on-line,” said committee chair Dan Ashton. “All of the input received is carefully considered as part of our final report,” added deputy chair Mike Farnworth.
This year’s consultations began with the release of the Budget 2014 Consultation Paper by the Ministry of Finance and include public hearings in 17 B.C. communities, and video-conference sessions covering an additional five locations. The following hearings are scheduled to take place in October:
