Privacy Policy

The Parliamentary Committees Office is committed to protecting the personal contact information of individuals who participate in public consultations. 

Collection and protection of personal information 

Individuals participating in public consultations are asked to provide their full name and personal contact information for verification purposes. Personal contact information can only be viewed by Parliamentary Committees Office staff and is not disclosed to any third parties. The Parliamentary Committees Office protects personal contact information by taking appropriate safeguards against such risks as unauthorized use or disclosure.  

Organizational contact information provided by individuals participating on behalf of an organization is not considered personal information. 

Disclosure of names   

Because of the nature of public consultations, the names of all individuals and organizations who provide input to committees are listed in the committee's final report which is made available on the committee's website at the conclusion of its work.  

Posting input and submissions 

Written input and submissions to parliamentary committees are considered public documents and may be posted on the committee's website. In addition, submissions can be made available upon request to interested parties, usually following the release of the committee's final report. Parliamentary Committees Office staff will remove an individual's personal contact information prior to posting or disclosing any submissions. 

Presentations at committee meetings are audiocast live, recorded and transcribed by Hansard Services. Audio files and transcripts of proceedings are posted on the committee's website, along with any written materials provided.  

Individuals or organizations may request to not have their submission posted on the committee's website; however, all submissions are considered part of the input received by a committee during its public consultation and may be provided to interested parties upon request.
