Visitor Notices

The Parliament Buildings will be closed on May 18 and May 19. Summer hours begin on Monday, May 20, 2024.

The Parliament Buildings will be closed to visitors from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

Public Tour Schedule

Free guided tours offered frequently from 9:00 am to 4:40 pm. Free tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from the front driveway. Please ask for a ticket to the next available public tour upon arrival.

Hours of Operation

Summer (May 20 - September 2, 2024)

Free guided tours are offered daily (Monday - Sunday) between Monday, May 20 and Monday, September 2, 2024.

  • Monday to Friday - Tours are offered regularly throughout the day between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm. On weekdays, visitors may join a free guided tour or take their own self-guided tour. 

  • Weekends and Holidays - Tours are offered regularly throughout the day between 9:00 am and 4:40 pm. On weekends and holidays, visitors must join a free guided tour to enter the Parliament Buildings. Free tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis from the front driveway.

Please note that opening hours and tour times may change without notice due to Legislative events, demonstrations on the precinct, and operational requirements.


How to Join a Guided Tour

To join a free guided tour, please check in with a tour guide on the front driveway. 

All tours are free and last approximately 45 minutes.

No advance bookings for public tours.

  • Monday to Friday - On weekdays, plan to arrive 10 - 15 minutes before the tour to allow for time to pass through security screening. Tours begin from inside the Parliament Buildings in the Lower Rotunda.

  • Weekends and Holidays - On weekends and holidays, free tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. Tours begin from outside on the front driveway. Please arrive 10 minutes before the time listed on your ticket to allow for time to pass through security screening. Visitors who arrive after the tour has started will not be admitted.

Visitors are welcome to take their own self-guided tour from Monday to Friday, year-round.

General Information

Transportation and Parking 

The Parliament Buildings are located at 501 Belleville Street in Victoria, British Columbia. 

  • There is no public parking on the property. Street parking and pay parking lots are located nearby. 

  • Outdoor bike racks are located on either side of the buildings behind the East and West Annexes. 

  • A bus stop is located on the Government Street side of the property.

Accessibility   

The Parliament Buildings are accessible to visitors in wheelchairs and scooters, those with limited mobility, and children in strollers. 

  • The accessible entrance can be reached from the front driveway on the west side of the Parliament Buildings (to the right of the front steps). A short ramp will lead you down to the entry door. 
  • For visitors with accessibility requirements, the best place to park, or be dropped off, is immediately beside the property on Menzies Street.

  • Visitors are welcome to bring supportive devices or service animals. 

  • Elevators can be used to travel between floors while inside the Parliament Buildings.

  • An accessible washroom is located in the east hallway on the second floor.
