The Senior’s Tea & Tour program is an outreach initiative aimed at engaging BC's senior citizens in the role, history, and function of the BC Parliament Buildings.
The visit includes a light breakfast in the Parliamentary Dining Room followed by a walking guided tour with a costumed member of the Parliamentary Players Program. Depending on availability, a gallery session to observe a sitting of the Legislature can also be arranged. Seniors can expect to explore the history and significance of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia and engage directly with an historical character from British Columbia’s past.
The tour is free. The cost of the breakfast is $13.25 per person, which includes sales tax and gratuity.
Reservations can be made by emailing the Parliamentary Education Office at PEO@leg.bc.ca. Each program has a maximum capacity of 25 participants. The BC Parliament Buildings are wheelchair and walker accessible; visit www.leg.bc.ca/accessibility or phone (250) 387-6668 for more information. Please note that there are 2 wheelchair or walker user accessible seats in the public galleries and that all other seats are only accessible with stairs.
As this is a well sought after program, in the event that you need to cancel your booking for Seniors' Tea & Tour, please allow for at least three business days so other groups may be booked.
