Lorne Doerkson was elected MLA for Cariboo-Chilcotin in 2020. Lorne serves as the Official Opposition Caucus Chair as well as Shadow Minister for Water, Land and Resource Stewardship and Rural Development, and Emergency Management and Climate Readiness.

A long-time resident of the Cariboo-Chilcotin, Lorne Doerkson has worked in many different industries including a 20-year term in the newspaper business, followed by the automobile industry and is self-employed in financial services.

Lorne is a passionate community booster and was twice awarded the Community Booster award by the Chamber of Commerce. He has served on many boards and volunteered for a variety of local causes, often as emcee for events, and serving at an executive level on boards including the Williams Lake Stampede, the Chamber of Commerce, BC Community Newspaper Association and Hough Memorial Cancer Society.
