Position Summary

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Human Resource Operations department is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative and detail-oriented individual for the regular full-time position of Payroll and Benefits Supervisor.

Reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager, the Payroll and Benefits Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the timely, accurate and effective delivery of Assembly payroll and benefit services to a variable client group of approximately 700. This role will provide day to day support and direction to the payroll team and will participate in a variety of projects.

Applicants must have a current Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification or equivalent, have or be working towards a Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification, and have experience working with in-house payroll systems. Five or more years of related experience in a supervisory/team lead role is preferred.

The Payroll and Benefits Supervisor will be required to work on-site.
