The Select Standing Committee on Health is one of nine permanent all-party committees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. The Committee is working to identify potential strategies to maintain a sustainable health care system for British Columbians.
As part of its work, the Committee undertook public consultations in 2014-15 and 2016, culminating with the release of its report on March 1, 2017, including 59 unanimous recommendations focusing on better access for rural health care, wider use of interdisciplinary teams, and enhancing the effectiveness of addiction recovery programs.
