School Tours

Tour Information

The maximum number of people for each tour is 35 students and 5 adults. Larger groups will need to book multiple tours.

Plan to spend approximately one hour for a guided tour, or 1.5 hours if you will also be observing debates.

School groups must arrive at the school entrance (see map below), which is located at the back of the Parliament Buildings.

Cost: Free.

Members of the Legislative Assembly

We will notify your school’s MLA of your visit and invite them to meet with your class during the tour. MLAs have busy schedules so we cannot guarantee their availability. Consider inviting the MLA to visit your classroom before or after your visit.

Observing Debates

School groups may be allotted 20 minutes in the Public Gallery to observe debates when the Legislative Assembly is meeting (Parliamentary Calendar).

  • Make sure you book using the 'Tour with Gallery' option if you wish to observe debates as part of your visit.

Please note that Question Period accounts for only 30 minutes of the Legislative Assembly’s daily schedule. Most groups will not see Question Period, but will see the MLAs discussing proposed legislation or reviewing finances

As the MLAs discuss many important issues, please be aware that sensitive topics may be covered while your group is in the Gallery.

Booking Confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email once your request has been processed. Please review to make sure the details of your visit are correct.
