The Legislative Assembly establishes Special Committees to select and unanimously recommend the appointment of Statutory Officers. On February 17, 2016, pursuant to the terms of reference provided on May 22, 2015, and related provisions of the
Public Service Act [R.S.B.C. 1996, c. 385], the Special Committee to Appoint a Merit Commissioner released its unanimous
report and recommendation.
