The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services is one of nine permanent all-party committees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. The Committee holds annual public consultations on the provincial budget. The Committee also reviews and considers the annual reports, service plans and budget estimates of B.C.'s eight statutory offices.
Parliamentary committees are activated on a sessional basis and must receive a terms of reference from the Legislative Assembly to begin their work in each new session. On February 14, 2017, the 5th Session of the 40th Parliament of the Legislative Assembly prorogued and the 6th Session opened.
