The Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services is one of ten permanent all-party committees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.
The Committee holds a public consultation on the upcoming provincial budget every fall following the release of the budget consultation paper by the Minister of Finance. Read the Budget 2019 Consultation Paper.
British Columbians can share their ideas for Budget 2019 by speaking with the Committee at a public hearing, making a written, audio or video submission, or filling out the online survey. Register for a public hearing, make a submission or fill out the survey through the Committee’s consultation portal. The deadline for input is October 15 at 5:00 p.m., and the Committee will release its report on or before November 15. Visit Budget 2019 Consultation for details or read more in the Media Release.
The Committee also reviews and considers the annual reports, service plans and budget estimates of B.C.'s eight statutory offices. The Committee is further empowered to appoint an independent auditor to audit the financial statements of the Auditor General.
