Observing Debates
Make sure you book using the 'Tour with Gallery' option if you wish to observe debates. Please consult the (Parliamentary Calendar) to find out when the Legislative Assembly is meeting.
School groups who wish to observe debates are allocated 20 minutes in the Public Gallery following their tour.
-
As the MLAs are responsible for many important issues, please be aware that sensitive topics may be discussed while your group is in the Gallery.
Most groups will not see Question Period as it accounts for only 30 minutes of the daily meeting schedule. Most groups will see the MLAs discussing proposed legislation or reviewing finances.
Members of the Legislative Assembly
We will notify your school’s MLA of your visit and invite them to meet with your class.
MLAs have busy schedules so we cannot guarantee their availability. Consider inviting the MLA to visit your classroom before or after your visit.
